We are coming off a BOLD event held by the FPRA Ocala Chapter. If you attended the 2018 Mid-Florida Image Awards and Communicator of the Year celebration on April 26th, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
Approximately 100 community and business leaders gathered to celebrate excellence in PR and communications. Kudos to Allison Campbell, APR, CPRC, who chaired the event and set a new standard of excellence along with her committee members Tina Banner, APR, CPRC, Ginger Broslat, APR, CPRC, Devon Chestnut, APR, CPRC, Kevin Christian, APR, CPRC, Heather Danenhower, APR, CPRC, Kristina Donohue, Stephanie Payne and Brenda Williams.
Now that I have my Image Award entry judges remarks in hand, I’m going to tweak my entries and prepare for the Golden Image Award entry deadline of May 21st. What excellent projects have you worked in the past year that might be award-worthy? Give me a call and I would love to discuss entry ideas with you!
Coming soon to our chapter members and local professionals, the 2018 Toolkit for Success Seminar. ENGAGE – Your Team, Your Audience, and The Media; this will be a fabulous half-day professional development seminar on May 17th at the College of Central Florida. Thank you to Ginger Broslat, APR, CPRC, for spearheading the committee and organizing a great day for our chapter members. I hope to see you there!
If you’re looking for an extended professional development opportunity, consider the FPRA Annual Conference in Jacksonville August 5-8. This is a top-notch conference with presentations by communications experts and industry leaders from around the country. You don’t want to miss this learning opportunity!
Until next time, keep the BOLD PR work going and take part in all this Association has to offer. You will not regret it!
Lisa E. Varner, APR, CPRC
