Run for the PR Roses – The 2023 FPRA Mid-Florida Image Awards
The FPRA Image Awards recognize the best in research, strategy, implementation and execution in the public relations profession. Image Awards competitions are conducted in the first quarter of the year at the chapter level and recognize the area’s best work in four main divisions:
- Public Relations Programs
- Collateral of Public Relations
- Digital Tools of Public Relations
- Student Projects in Public Relations
The Image Awards competition is conducted annually by local chapters of the Florida Public Relations Association to recognize outstanding public relations programs in local hometown markets and encourage and promote the development of public relations professionals in our state. The Ocala Chapter in association with the Lake and Volusia/Flagler Chapters host the Mid-Florida Image Awards competition.
An entry consists of a two-page summary of the program, tool or project and supporting materials. Judges for the local competition are qualified, experienced and accomplished public relations professionals from a neighboring FPRA chapter. Judges must have achieved their Accreditation in Public Relations or won Image awards previously.
Three types of awards can be presented in each division/category:
– Image Award: May be presented to the top-scoring entry in each category, provided it meets the predetermined criteria of excellence.
– Award of Distinction: Presented to all entries that meet the five criteria of excellence set by the panel of judges.
– Judges’ Award: Given to an outstanding entry that achieves maximum results while using a minimum amount of money.
The top-scoring entry in the Collateral of Public Relations division and Digital Tools of Public Relations division receives a Grand Image Award, and the top entry in the Public Relations Programs division receives a Grand All Image Award.
Winners of local Image Awards are encouraged to incorporate feedback from judges and then compete at the statewide Golden Image Awards held at FPRA’s Annual Conference each August.
The Golden Image Awards competition is conducted annually by the Florida Public Relations Association to recognize outstanding public relations programs in Florida and to encourage and promote the development of public relations professionals in our state. Winning entries must incorporate the best examples of innovation, planning and design; demonstrate sound public relations research and planning; and meet the highest standards of production, execution and evaluation of results and budget. Entries are accepted from FPRA members and nonmembers.
