Marketing During a Global Pandemic
Director of Tourism and Marketing for Visit St. Lucie County’s official destination marketing organization

The Ocala Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association will hold its monthly professional development virtual meeting on Friday, Oct. 16, from noon to 1 p.m., with networking starting at 11:45 a.m.
The featured speaker is Charlotte Bireley, director of Tourism and Marketing for Visit St. Lucie County’s official destination marketing organization. Bireley has a bachelor’s in advertising from the University of Florida and more than 20 years of experience.
Since 2009, Bireley has led the tourism marketing efforts for St. Lucie County, helping to increase tourist tax revenues by 53% and expanding St. Lucie’s brand awareness in the travel and tourism industry.
The third generation native of the Treasure Coast has achieved many accolades, including designing an award-winning capital grant program that provided more than $1 million to nonprofit tourism organizations in St. Lucie County and earning a first place “Flagler” award from VISIT FLORIDA ® for her tourism advocacy efforts.
During her presentation, “Marketing During a Global Pandemic,” Bireley will discuss ways she has increased revenue growth during the COVID-19 pandemic through creative campaigns, such as “Nearcation.”
The Ocala Chapter invites all public relations practitioners to this online meeting. The cost is $15 for guests and $10 for members. The reservation deadline is Monday, Oct. 12.
