2018 FPRA Chapter of the Year
From the PResident's Perspective
As the great week of FPRA Annual Conference comes to a close, it’s hard to believe this is my final column as President of the FPRA Ocala Chapter! As the old saying goes, time flies when you’re having fun. Conference is so inspiring every year and this year was exceptional. This year has been REALLY fun for me as I’ve witnessed so much success in our small, but mighty chapter. Receiving the President’s award for Promoting FPRA and Chapter of the Year confirms some of my favorite moments of our chapter year. Thanks to our dynamic board and members who are truly engaged in promoting the value of professional development through FPRA.
Let me share the highlights with you:
We exceeded our membership goal of 55 this year; currently there are 63 professional and three student members.
We strengthened the FPRA brand locally with our fabulous Mid-Florida Local Image Awards and Toolkit for Success seminar.
We secured a solid leadership stream for the chapter moving into 2018-2019.
I have grown in my BOLD PR steps this year and I hope you have too. There is so much room for us to move boldly with our work. As I transition into my role as Immediate Past President of the chapter, my commitment to our success remains the same. I am only a phone call away and I hope you will consider getting more involved if you’re not already.
I promise you will never regret a BOLD commitment to FPRA.
Until next time,
Lisa E. Varner, APR, CPRC
