Join Marion County public relations professionals as they ring in the holidays, mix the wine for the 2018 Mid-Florida Image Awards and mingle with friends.
The festivities will begin as attendees gather at the Corkscrew, one of Ocala’s lovely downtown venues.
The Corkscrew hosts will teach participants about wine making and allow members to mix a signature batch that will be used at the 2018 Mid-Florida Image Awards and Communicator of the Year event. Mark your calendars now for Thurs., April 26, 2018 for that event.
Often, the monthly professional development luncheons do not leave enough time for networking, a valuable source of professional development. The Jingle, Mix and Mingle will give FPRA members and guests an opportunity to catch up on the latest personal and professional projects. Delicious hors d’oeuvres will be served.
Attendees are encouraged to bring diapers to support the
Diapers in December Drive for the Early Learning Coalition of Marion County.
Since Thanksgiving just passed, this seems an appropriate time to express my gratitude for each of you. I appreciate you investing your time, talent and treasure in the FPRA Ocala Chapter. I am personally thankful for the 18 years I have been involved with this organization. It has helped me grow as a professional and make great connections throughout my career.
As we turn the page to December, it’s hard to believe we are in the busiest season of the year already! The FPRA Ocala Chapter elves are working hard to deliver professional development presents to all our members.
As we enter this season of gift giving, which FPRA present will you unwrap? Achieving your Accreditation in Public Relations? Winning an Image Award? Attending the Annual Conference? Or purchasing the Media Directory?
More immediately, I hope you will accept the invitation for networking in a social environment during our holiday party. Get to know fellow chapter members in a relaxed and festive setting.
We will gather on Thursday December 14 at the Corkscrew in downtown Ocala where we will be bottling wine – something I have never done! In a few months, we will taste the fruits of our labor when we serve the wine at our Image Awards gala on April 26, 2018.
FPRA member benefits are year-round gifts ripe for the picking. I urge you to practice BOLD PR and choose a gift that will help you grow in new ways. I welcome your phone calls and emails because I want you to get as much from FPRA as I have!

Kickstar Your Career in 2018
Want to advance your PR skills to the next level? Looking for a way to polish your professional style? Need a boost to invigorate your career? You should pursue APR, or Accreditation in Public Relations, for any of these reasons and more.
Study sessions start in January ’18 on Monday evenings, 5:30PM-7PM in Downtown Ocala. The three-step process to achieve APR involves a self-assessment, Review Panel presentation, and a computer-based exam. Study sessions spark creativity to think outside the box when it comes to APR. Start 2018 with a challenge by contacting Kevin Christian, APR, CPRC, to get your APR process rolling with study sessions. While study sessions are free, online options are also available at expense to individual member.
FPRA Webinars are free as part of your member benefits–$25 for non-members!
