October 2018 PRestige

PResident's Perspective

Greetings, fellow PR Professionals!

We are off and running into another fantastic year. Last month the Ocala Chapter had two great events, membership renewals kicked off, and your board got active at the board retreat.

Part of the retreat included discussing what words mean the most to our chapter as we begin this year.

The word I want to focus on as we move into October is positivity. Having a positive attitude is important because it can help with problem solving, create more opportunities, and increase the chance of successful endeavors. Having a positive attitude is not always easy but if you are able to take a step back and find some good in a situation and learn from it, that will lead to more positive outcomes.

Having a positive attitude can also help during times of change. This year we will be making some changes such as increasing the fees of our luncheon prices. Effective October 1, the price for pre-paid members will increase to $20.00 and the monthly luncheon prices for members will increase to $22.00. With this increase, the chapter will be able to look at additional member investment opportunities.

I believe our chapter lives and breathes positivity. I see it when I talk to new members as well as when I meet with seasoned members. The Ocala Chapter members are excited to share their knowledge, help people grow, and get involved.

You are encouraged to invite colleagues to our events and let others know about the Ocala Chapter of FPRA. These positive attitudes are one of the key factors that make this group such a great organization to be a part of.

If you would like to get more involved in the Ocala Chapter, please let me know. We have several committees that are looking for new committee members and your positive attitude as you get more engaged will make a difference.

With Gratitude,

Lauren
