2019 Institutional Nominee Marion Cultural Alliance

The organization uses a wide variety of tactics and tools to communicate with the public about its programs. These include social media like Facebook, printed materials, media relations, their website, and community outreach. The board members actively engage in spreading the word about MCA activities – particularly via Facebook. Many of these board members are business/community leaders with a vast network, so use of social media to share the MCA message is extremely effective.

Of notable interest and public impact is MCA’s successful effort in partnership with the City of Ocala to secure the Levitt AMP grant for a third year. Through MCA’s communications efforts, the City of Ocala was one of only 18 communities nationwide to receive the grant.
